When you call Fernbrook Garage Doors Houston, the person who shows up at your door is one of us. We’re a Houston crew, which means we know what this humidity does to torsion springs, we know the neighborhoods from Katy to Kingwood, and we know that when a garage door fails in July, it’s not an inconvenience, it’s a 110-degree problem that needs fixing right. Every technician on this team is background-checked, uniformed, and trained to treat your home like it belongs to someone we answer to by name. Because it does.

Our People
Jesse Calder, Owner
Jesse started turning wrenches on garage doors long before Fernbrook opened its Houston location, and he still runs calls most weeks. His hands know the difference between a LiftMaster logic board acting up and a Chamberlain gear kit worn past its tolerance, and he’d rather show you the exact spring that failed than talk around it. He’s the one who wrote the 365-Day Done Right Promise after watching too many homeowners get stuck between a broken door and a vague invoice. When he’s not on a job, he’s usually standing in a driveway somewhere in Cypress explaining to a customer why a $40 roller matters and a $400 motor replacement doesn’t, yet. Jesse is the reason every Fernbrook call ends with a written price in your hand before a single tool comes off the truck.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has spent seventeen years doing garage door repair in Houston, which means he’s seen springs corrode from salt air in Clear Lake and tracks warp from heat in Pearland. He’s factory-trained on LiftMaster, Genie, and Chamberlain opener systems, and he carries a torque wrench calibrated for torsion spring work because guessing on spring tension is how doors hurt people. Marcus is the technician we send when a spring conversion from extension to torsion needs to be done quietly, correctly, and without a single scratch on the ceiling. His lab, a seven-year-old black mutt named Socket, got loose in his truck once and ate a box of weatherstripping; now every van gets checked twice before roll-out.
Elena R., Senior Installer
Elena has hung more new Clopay and Amarr doors in the Heights and Montrose than she can count, and she can tell you within half an inch how much clearance a Wayne Dalton low-headroom track needs before the door will run smooth. She’s got a sharp eye for the details most people miss: a hinge pin that’s already wearing unevenly, a section that catches the weatherseal on the upswing, a pad that needs to sit three inches from the wall so the door clears the trim. Elena was an apprentice with another garage door company before joining Fernbrook, and she is now the one who teaches our new hires how to set sensors without ever tripping the safety beam during a test stroke. Her standard-issue work bag includes dog treats, and she always asks before she offers them.
Devon P., Service Coordinator
Devon is the voice on the other end of the line at (361) 286-8321, and he answers live, around the clock, no phone tree and no robot. He’s been dispatching garage door repair in Houston long enough to keep a mental map of traffic patterns between Sugar Land and Humble, which means when he tells you a technician can reach you in the next hour, he’s already factoring in the I-10 construction you forgot to mention. Devon also coordinates the C.A.R.E. checklist on every job: clean up like it’s our own home, ask before we move or touch anything, respect the family’s time and quiet hours, explain the price before the work. He tells every customer the written price number once, clearly, and he doesn’t hang up until you know exactly what’s coming.
Priya S., Apprentice Technician
Priya joined the Houston crew about a year ago after spending three years doing commercial overhead door maintenance along the Ship Channel, where salt corrosion and constant cycles taught her what real wear looks like. She’s working through Fernbrook’s brand training on all eight lines we carry: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Clopay, Amarr, Wayne Dalton, Craftsman, and Raynor. Priya handles a lot of the opener diagnostic calls now, the ones where a door runs but the safety sensors keep blinking, and she’s become the person we send when a residential panel needs a clean, careful photo log before and after. She keeps a small notebook in her pocket and writes down every odd noise a door makes, because in Houston humidity, a creak in February becomes a snap in August.
One Standard, Every Job
The Cedarwell Care Promise isn’t a poster in the break room. It’s a checklist that gets worked through on every single visit, no matter who steps out of the van. Shoe covers go on before boots touch a hardwood floor. Drop cloths go down on tile and carpet when the job runs inside the house. Tools get switched to quieter options when a customer tells us the kids are down for a nap. Pet-safe products get chosen whenever there’s a choice about what touches the garage floor. And before we leave, we text or show you a photo of the cleanup so you don’t have to wonder what we left behind. The written price gets presented before work starts, every time, no exceptions, and the 365-Day Done Right Promise stands behind it with no negotiation required. Jesse Calder built the Houston crew around people who take that seriously, because in a city this big, a garage door company is only as good as the last technician who showed up on time and did the job the way they’d want it done at their own house. That’s the whole point.
