Torsion Spring Replacement in Spring Branch
Before
AfterThe homeowner called at 6:40 a.m. because the door would not lift more than six inches. We found a torsion spring that had snapped where Houston humidity had worked its way into a micro-crack near the winding cone. Both springs were replaced as a matched set, the cables reset, and the door re-balanced to within a quarter inch of factory spec. Before, the opener strained hard enough to shake the header. After, the door lifted with two fingers and ran quiet enough to not wake a sleeping baby upstairs.
Opener Swap from Chain-Drive to Belt-Drive in Katy
Before
AfterA family in Katy shares a wall between the garage and the nursery, and the old chain-drive opener made naptime impossible. We pulled the original unit, added vibration isolators at the mounting rail, and installed a LiftMaster belt-drive running at 58 decibels. The technician worked during quiet hours at the homeowner’s request and used quiet tools the entire time. The difference was immediate, you can hear conversation over the door instead of chain rattle.
Bottom Panel Replacement After a Reversed SUV in the Heights
Before
AfterA young driver backed into the garage before the door had fully cleared, folding the bottom panel inward and pulling the right track off line by three-eighths of an inch. We replaced the Clopay panel to match the existing door color exactly, straightened the track, and installed a new bottom seal. The owner expected to live with a dented door for a year. Instead it looked original by 2:00 p.m.
Full Door Replacement on a 1992 Wood Door in Sugar Land

Houston heat and humidity had not been kind to this original wood door. The lower sections were soft to the touch, the hinges sagged enough to leave daylight at the jamb, and the whole assembly weighed far more than the opener was rated for. We measured, ordered a new Amarr steel door with an R-13 insulated core, and completed the install in one scheduled visit. The garage temperature dropped 11 degrees by the homeowner’s own thermometer the next afternoon.
Roller and Hinge Rebuild for a Screeching Door in Pearland

This Pearland homeowner said the door sounded like a freight train and had to ease it down by hand for three months. Sixteen steel rollers were flat-spotted, and ten hinges had seized solid enough that the door was torqueing the track on every cycle. We replaced all rollers with sealed nylon units and all hinges with new hardware, then ran the door through six full cycles. The noise level dropped from 91 decibels to 72, measured with a meter at the opener head. The pets stopped hiding under the couch when the door ran.
Spring Conversion from Extension to Torsion in Cypress

This older Cypress garage still had side-mounted extension springs, and the left spring had stretched unevenly enough that the door hung an inch low on one side. We converted the entire system to a torsion assembly above the opening, which is what most Houston doors need anyway given the humidity our springs face. New cables, new drums, new bearing, and the safety cable deleted entirely. The door now travels straight and true, and the opener does not work against gravity on every cycle.
